Based on the Symbian operating system (v9.1) and UIQ 3.0, the P1i can handle corporate or personal emails, contacts and calendar. It supports push email services including Exchange ActiveSync and BlackBerry Connect and allows for remote wiping of email and PIM data; critical in the event of the phone being stolen or misplaced. The P1i lets users read and edit documents on the move, whether Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Excel. Both UMTS and integrated WLAN provide for high-speed Web browsing and data downloads, plus email at a rate and performance consumers can enjoy from their office desktop. The P1i is also VoIP enabled for making calls over the internet.

The Sony Ericsson K850i integrates a 5.0-megapixel camera with Cyber-Shot digital camera features such as auto focus, xenon flash, image stabilizer, red-eye reduction and more. Even if users are not an expert photographer, the K850i does everything to help get the best possible shots. Photo fix automatically improves light balance in one click to make pictures as good as it can get. When taking a picture of a moving object, for example at a sports event, consumers can select BestPic and take nine pictures in one burst. Then simply choose the best and delete the rest. At just 14.5 mm slim, the Sony Ericsson K770i can take photos comparable to a standalone digital camera. Once in camera mode the 1.9-inch screen becomes the viewfinder, and the Cyber-shot based menu becomes visible displaying eight lit icons across the keypad. These serve as 1-click shortcuts to each of the camera’s key functions, such as picture size and photo light. Also able to capture video, the camera comes with a powerful photo light for indoor photo-taking and filming. For spontaneous snapshots with poor light conditions, a Photo Fix option offers PC-free photo editing on the phone. A slide show feature lets users show photos to people who are around, while options to post pictures to a ‘blogsite’ or online gallery are also included.
